The embodiment of a generous spirit, Enchantment author Guy Kawasaki provides countless invaluable insights into how to succeed–in business and in life–in this fast read. As it turns out, many principles for growing a successful business also apply to living a good life.
The word “enchantment” is charged with deep meanings formed in our childhood. The first stories many of us learn are fairy tales, where people act by casting spells, both good and evil.
So, you could say this is a book of good spells for the modern business world. Spells like how to become an enchanting person; how to use words and data to convert prospects into clients, and how to keep clients enchanted.
Yet this book doesn’t feel like other motivational or business management books. I wanted it to never end. Really, I became enchanted while reading.
While Kawasaki offers many individual how-to tips, ones that I will surely implement, his overall message is having a positive attitude will make all the difference. Of course, we’ve heard this before, but never so convincingly.
And Kawasaki walks the talk. When he says he never considers any person too insignificant for his attention, I have personal experience of that generosity. A few months after I launched my business and started this blog, I had all of three views per blogpost, all of them friends. I happened to discover Alltop, Kawasaki’s online news aggregator, and found it was a very useful tool. I blogged about my discovery, to share it with my three readers.
Imagine my surprise when I saw my site stats rising like a rocket launching into orbit. Kawasaki had tweeted a link to my blogpost on his Twitter account and his many followers were checking out my blogpost. That attention gave me encouragement and motivation to keep on blogging and eventually I was able to attract a larger readership for my blog. It helps that Kawasaki listed my blog on Alltop!
This is a book for everyone who works. It reads like a timeless classic. I know I’ll be turning back to it again and again.

Frances, I will definitely have to check out this book. It sounds wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
